Philadelphia County, PA, has been singled out as the city with the highest number of deaths due to homicide – one person unlawfully killing another person – and vehicular deaths according to data from the Centres for Disease Control(CDCs) from 2018 to 2022.
Deaths due to homicide and road transport accounted for more than 38 deaths( 38.5 deaths) per 100, 000 according to the data. This makes Philadelphia the most dangerous place to inhabit taking into consideration the risk of death through unlawful killing and using road transport.
The data, analyzed by Ryan Radia, a research fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, pointed out that deaths due to homicide and vehicular transport are highest in the following:
Philadelphia County, PA, ranks at number one with 38.5 deaths followed at a distance by Wayne County, MI, with 31.9 deaths. Cuyahoga County came third with 25.9 deaths. While San Bernardino County recorded 25.8 deaths.
The rest are Cook County, IL( 25.1); Dallas County, TX( 23.6); Harris County, TX(23.3); Franklin County,OH( 23.1); Broward County, FL( 22.8); Hillsborough County, FL and Miami Dade,FL came at the 10th position with 21.6 deaths.
