Three(3) individuals have been arrested at separate instances for trafficking drugs by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), Frederick City Police, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office
The latest bust follows several search and seizure warrants related to a large-scale drug trafficking organization operating in Frederick County.
According to a release by the FCSO, in December 2023, members of the Frederick HIDTA group concluded a lengthy investigation, led by FCSO Narcotics Investigations Section with significant collaboration from the Frederick City Police, Maryland State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The search and seizures warranted:
· 6.8 pounds of cocaine (powder and crack)
· 10 grams of Phencyclidine (PCP)
· $56,497
· 3 handguns
· 1 vehicle
Law enforcement representatives arrested the following individuals, with additional arrests pending, as part of this investigation.
William Ray Huskey, age 49, of Middletown, Maryland
· Possession w/ intent to distribute cocaine.
· Possession of cocaine
· Firearm/Drug trafficking crime
· CDS: Distribution with firearm
· Regulated firearm: illegally possess
· Handgun in vehicle
· Possession w/intent to distribute marijuana
Deandre Eugene Pryor Sr., age 45, of Frederick
· Possession w/ intent to distribute cocaine
· Possession, cocaine
· Possession of drug paraphernalia
Kevin Alexander Vaughan, 52, of Frederick
· CDS Possess large amount cocaine
· Possession w/intent to distribute cocaine
· Possession of cocaine
· Conspiracy CDS: Possession w/intent to distribute narcotic
· Conspiracy CDS distribute narcotic
“Because of the collaborative effort of multiple agencies and the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office, we dismantled a large drug trafficking organization,” said Lt. Chad Atkins, FCSO Narcotics Investigation Section commander. “This group will no longer supply illegal narcotics into our community, making Frederick County a safer place to live.”
The HIDTA program, created by Congress with the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, provides assistance to Federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies operating in areas determined to be critical drug-trafficking regions of the United States.
